Great Wall is a most famous historical place in Beijing. I have explored this beautiful Great fall a few months ago. I have spent a great time there. In fact, I want to explore this beautiful Great fall again and again. I recommended all the travelers must explore this Great fall one time in life if they are interested in exploring historical places.

You do not need an agency for either the FC or Summer Palace. Both can be reached easily by taxi or public transportation and then you can walk around on your own.

And agree with the above, for the Great Wall, all you need is a driver to get you there.

We just took a taxi from the airport. We got in the regular taxi line and waited at most 5 minutes. The cost was extremely cheap. I think it was the equivalent of maybe $15USD to get to our hotel in the center of Beijing. There's no reason to use the train with taxis that cheap. Like post 1 said, you do need to have the name and address of the hotel printed in Chinese. Drivers won't speak any English.

Can you recommend an agency providing a good tour to the Great Wall? Also, do we need an agency to visit the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace? Finally, if I stay in the center close to the touristic spots, would you recommend me to take the high speed train from the airport and the subway and/or taxi or would you suggest hiring a transportation pick up at the Airport?

Thanks much
