Beijing's worst traffic jam areas

Post by Kyle Mullin » Fri May 05, 2017 9:01 am

Between the hours of 7am-9.30am and 4.30pm-7.30pm, there are a few spots places where I don't even consider trying to get a cab, or where I try at all costs to avoid having a cabbie take me near. To me, they're hell-on-earth traffic jam zones that trap you for what feels like an etnernity. Among the worst, in my expierience, are:

-East third ring road and Workers' stadium north road, or any intersection in spitting distance of Sanlitun
-Any intersections near Guoamao subway station (it used to be part of my daily commute and it was BRUTAL)
-Dongzhimen's bus and subway stations
-The intersection at Dianmen Inner and West streets, just to the west of Nanluoguxiang subway station
-The intersection at Gulou and Andingmen Inner street

Anyone else have other no-go-zones that they'd warn against?
