The 5000 years Chinese civilization has strewn the land of Beijing with attractions full of cultural and historical interest. Some of them, like the Former Imperial Palace, Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, and the Zhoukoudian ruins of Peking Man are world famous cultural heritage sites endorsed by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
