A major Beijing road is packed with traffic on Sunday, a day vehicles are not normally subject to restrictions that stipulate that from Monday to Friday, cars with registration numbers ending in 1 or 6, 2 or 7, 3 or 8, 4 or 9, 5 or 0, respectively, are banned. Because people had to work on Sunday as well as on Saturday Oct 11 after the National Day holiday to make up their seven-day break, the road was more crowded than usual.
