Do you think we can live a better life without guanxi in China

Guanxi, or social relationship is most important for Chinese people. I think actually Chinese cultural is more relationship-based than other culture. Actually, in all walks of life, if you want to do something smoothly and quickly. You need to go through the process of figuring out who is actually important for you to meet. And it is often easier to meet the target person.
I know guanxi also has its negative aspect, like unfair competition and huge social cost.
But if we shake off guanxi, can we leave a better life?

Life is about relationships, in every country/culture relationships are important. The only difference is in the way this importance is expressed or visualized. Never say that in the US or Western world relationships are not important, that is not true. They are as important as in Chinese Culture.
