Founded in 2003, The British School of Beijing (BSB) is the oldest British style school in the city. BSB curriculum follows the English National Curriculum, with certain adjustments made to reflect their international context. The school has two campuses within the city: Sanlitun campus, which is conveniently located in the heart of the Embassy district and offers high quality primary education, and Shunyi campus, situated in the family-friendly suburbs on the outskirts of Beijing. At BSB, good manners and personal responsibility are highly valued and these elements are reinforced daily through the culture of the school which places a premium on social graces and considerate behavior. The Shunyi campus currently offers IGCSE and A-level examination programs, and will offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program starting in August 2014. The school is registered with the British government at Department of Education & Skills, as well a member of many prestigious groups: Nord Anglia Education Group, Council of British International Schools (COBIS), East Asian Association of British International Schools (EAABIS), International Schools Athletics Conference (ISAC), Federation of British International Schools South East Asia (FOBISSEA), ABRSM Music School and Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). BSB offers a wide array of after-school activities, as well, such as sports, arts, drama, music, photography, dance, cooking, plus an extensive program of community/charity work. Grade levels are from preschool to sixth form college (year 13/grade 12). Classes have a minimum of 15-20 students, with primary classes including a head teacher and Chinese/English support assistants. Tuition is RMB107,286-246,057. The school follows both Chinese and International calendars.
